I am mainly a self-taught artist. I have always loved nature
and art since childhood and trying to capture it.
I love being outside in the countryside experiencing nature and the
changing seasons. Most of my work is either watercolour or pen and
ink drawing. These are the media that I am both happier with and
prefer.
I am also lucky to live in South Wales and have since childhood
enjoyed the mountains, rivers, forests and the wildlife that is
found in them. I grew up in a typical, small, ex-mining, Welsh
village in the Rhymney Valley called Pontlottyn and now live in
Merthyr Tydfil. I like to hear the tales and memories connected
with these places. I have also grown up with and appreciated the
rich culture and industrial history of the area. When I am out
walking I hope to capture a particular scene or memory of a place
that will stay with me.
I only try and draw or paint things that I like or have a meaning
to me and it gives me great satisfaction if others find similar
likings and meanings in my work.
I hope that you enjoy looking at my work and will visit again,
Thank you,
L. Price
